Blessing Israeli Believers August 2017

Update from Efraim & Jeannie, Northern Galilee:
Shalom - שלום. Blessings and peace to you all this summer. Here in Israel there is just one type of summer weather - hot and dry. The only change is from hot to hotter.

The Land of Israel has very few perennial springs and rivers. Most of the river beds or wadis are dry stream beds most of the year. In the height of the summer there is almost no moisture or condensation to be found. The words of Psalm 42 were well written for the dry parched land:

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.

A deer didn't just stumble upon water, these animals know where to look for water or else they die. The sharpened instincts of these nomadic creatures lead them to the most likely places to find water. The spiritual application is simple to grasp. Yeshua told that we must hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). We too, as followers of Yeshua, should know where to turn in order to sustain our souls and thrive in the new life in the Messiah. My prayer for you dear friend is that you too will seek the comfort and provision only the Lord can provide.

On a sad and disturbing note; on Friday, July 14th there was another terrorist attack in the Old City of Jerusalem aimed at Israel security forces. This horrendous attack killed two Israeli policemen on duty at the Al-Asqa Mosque. Both of these young policemen were from the Druze community here in Western Galilee. One of them Kamil Shnan, a 22 year old man, was from the neighboring village of Horfesh.

The murder of these two police officers wasn't a matter of two Druze men being killed, but two of Israel's finest cut down before their time. In solidarity with the family, I went to join them during their time of mourning. I sat and wept with the family along with dozens of other people. Since I am not familiar with Druze customs, a friend in the village accompanied me and introduced me to the family.
The Scriptures encourages us to "mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:15).

There have been some fun times this month as well. As is the custom, I spent a day with the Massah Project that my niece, Liz, and some others are leading. This is a group of American college age Jewish believers who come to Israel to learn the Land and prepare for a ministry trip to Israeli travelers in northern India. Together we toured around Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights. Included in the day was a swim in the Hermon River, one of the tributaries to the Jordan River.

Here in Nahariyya, Jeannie and I continue to see our ministry expanding. The Or Hagalil Congregation needs prayer as we seek the Lord's direction regarding renewal of the rental contract for our meeting room and activities center. The current lease expires in October.

As we continue to preach the Gospel and encourage the believers through His Word, we thank you for partnering with us in prayer and support. It is such an encouragement knowing we are together in preaching the Gospel to those who need to know Yeshua here in Israel.

We want to thank Blessing Israeli Believers for their faithful and generous support of our ministry work here in Israel. We appreciate you partnering with us as we further the Kingdom of God and look for opportunities for many to hear about the Messiah Jesus.

May the Lord continue to bless you, encourage you, bring you closer to Him and enrich your lives daily.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:42-44

Our Watch Therefore television program is airing weekly now with
two different time slots. I am praising King Yeshua as He truly has been faithful in directing my steps regarding the broadcast. What a joy and treasure to live with the view of the Sea of Galilee right out my back door, which also serves as my television recording set! We prayed for about a year for an affordable studio background to record the program. Now we have a place to record that is exceedingly and abundantly better than I could have asked or thought of-why am I surprised?

Watch Therefore airs from Israel across North America through the Christian Television Network (CTN) on Dish Network, Direct TV, and ROKU. It also is beamed by satellite to 75% of the world-Hallelujah!

The primary goal of the program is to help make authentic "faithful servant" disciples of Messiah Yeshua who are watching and ready for His soon coming. The faithful servant in Matthew 24 is watching for his Master's return and doing what his Master commanded.
I share about Blessing Israeli Believers on every broadcast and also the gospel at the end of most programs. This television airtime is so very expensive, but please pray and remember, "My help comes from the LORD" that He may raise up faithful partners who will come alongside to help!

Now is the time like never before to Watch Therefore and Be Ready!!!

Update from Ariel & Shayla

Sharing the Gospel with 16 Israelis from "Harvest" Village
A group of 16 Israelis contacted Kehilat haCarmel and asked if we could share with them about who Messianic Jews are and what we believe. Eliel and I (Ariel) had the privilege of sharing with them on Friday.
They were a group of older native-born Israelis - traditionally one of the groups that has been most closed to the Gospel - yet were incredibly open, and actually ended up staying with us for almost two hours because they kept wanting to hear more! They were all from a village called Katzir - "Harvest" in Hebrew - how appropriate!
We shared about the congregational life, the ways we reach out to the surrounding community, then about what we believe and how Yeshua has transformed our lives and many others' lives.

On the way there, I asked God if there was something He wanted me to share that I don't usually share. I saw a picture of an ultrasound and knew He wanted me to talk briefly about abortion. A huge portion of Israelis have been involved in an abortion at some level, and responses to any statement against abortion in Israel can often be violently negative, but I knew He wanted me to speak about it. So when I shared about what the Tanakh says about sin and our need for atonement, I briefly talked about abortion as well.

Soon afterwards, one lady interrupted, "But you're just laying guilt on us!" (I'm almost certain she had had an abortion). I responded, "My intention isn't at all to just lay guilt. Any good doctor has to first diagnose the disease before he can give the treatment. That's exactly what God did in the Tanakh, telling us clearly about our disease of sin, and then offering the solution." Then we repeatedly came back to the theme of Yeshua becoming the "guilt offering" (Isaiah 53:10), and how He removes the burden of shame for all the evil we've done, for all those who believe in Him.

The same lady who objected earlier came up to us afterwards and said, "Wow, you all are so full of love! Keep up the important work you're doing! This was marvelous!" Praise God!

The leader of the group stood up at the end and said, "Friends, I think the next step is for us to really experience this for ourselves, first-hand," implying that he wanted them to come to a service the next time. He told us afterwards that he loved the meeting so much that he wants to keep bringing groups!

Several people asked if I really believed the stories about Yeshua's miracles. I answered that He didn't just do miracles then, and shared about how Yeshua has healed over 200 people on the streets over the past few months, then offered them prayer if they had any pain. One lady had intense pain in her shoulder (7 on a scale of 0-10), but Yeshua healed her when we prayed. The word started spreading about this to all the others as well. Interestingly, her name is Ge'ulah, "Redemption!"

Quite a few of them took New Testamentsand the "Supernatural or Just Remarkable" booklet, as well. They all thanked us profusely and one lady even said, "This really opened my eyes!"Praise God!
Let's pray that God would open all their eyes to full revelation of Yeshua and bring them to Him, leading to an even greater harvest here in Israel!

Dear Partners of Blessing Israeli Believers,

We just celebrated the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost) here in Israel! In the Torah this was a feast of harvest between the LORD and Israel. You see, Shavuot in Hebrew literally means "weeks"-this is the Feast of Weeks as it is seven weeks after the Feast of Passover/Unleavened Bread. It is also called the "second Firstfruits". Our Lord Yeshua resurrected on the "first Firstfruits". In the New Covenant Scriptures the Lord is called the First fruits of the resurrection and we who are born of His Spirit are called a kind of first fruits:

But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. I Corinthians 15:20

Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. James 1:18

In the Old Testament they were required to bring the first of the harvest and offer it to the LORD as a sacrifice. Then and today it is important to acknowledge that He who brought the first of the harvest is also the One who brings the rest of the harvest.

There were many ceremonies attached to this feast but one that stands out in my heart is the waving of two loaves with leaven. This is a bit unusual and I think, as some others do, that this represents Jew and Gentile who are saved by Messiah Jesus.

You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the Lord. Leviticus 23:17

Often in the Bible sin is pictured by leaven. These two loaves with leaven may represent Jew and Gentile both with leaven, yet both holy before the LORD due to the cleansing of the blood of the Lamb. Now because of His righteousness they are acceptable before our Father in heaven!

It was almost 2,000 years ago on Shavuot when the Holy Spirit birth of this New Covenant born again body began in Israel! Think of it, after all this time here we are back in the Land! Just like that day in Acts 2-once again Jews and Gentiles who love the God of Israel Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) are here, not only in Jerusalem, but all over Israel in one accord having been baptized by the Holy Spirit!

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." Acts 2:38-39

We celebrated Shavuot with a group of friends on our patio overlooking the Sea of Galilee and enjoyed a grand time of worship music and a wonderful meal together. How special it was to stand with a dear brother in Messiah and together read and teach about Acts 2. Amazingly, a strong wind began to blow through the majestic old trees that are in our back yard overlooking the Sea of Galilee! Truly, it is such a special hour to be an Israeli Believer in

Messiah Yeshua. Your participation in the work we're doing here in the land is truly a blessing and makes a great difference. We pray the blessings of Genesis 12:3 over your homes, and churches.

Blessing Israeli Believers May 2017

An Update from Oded Shoshani, Pastor - King of Kings Hebrew Congregation, Jerusalem

Single mother B continues to work as a nurse in the internal medicine department of the local hospital.
She recently took a test to try to advance her career. Please pray that she passes. She is very grateful for the help of Blessing Israeli Believers and grateful to know that you are thinking about her. She asks for prayer for her three children who are not in the Lord. Also, pray for her youngest son who is in the army and doing guard duty. B works very hard, doing a lot of shifts. Your gift is a real blessing to her and her family.

Single mother L continues to grow strong in her faith. She and a friend have begun going to a nursing home to share the gospel. Since beginning to work at Bead Chaim, Israel Pro-Life, she has become a more confident believer and is blessed to help others choose life. Her personal experiences and trials make her an empathetic counselor. Her nine year old daughter joins her in our congregation. Please pray for her son - a soldier, who is not a believer yet. L is VERY grateful for your help.

An update from Steve & Irena, Ministering in the Golan Heights

Study Tour Israel
Our Spring 2017 Semester is almost completed. It has been a blessing to see the students seek the Lord and a daily basis.
We have had numerous scheduled and non-scheduled tours, events and even opposition. The students have all expressed how living in Israel has changed their lives.

After 3 full days of touring the Galilee and Golan Regions our students in the picture here enjoyed camping on the shore of the Sea Galilee.
The Golan students also spent 3 nights in Tel Aviv where they shared the Gospel with numerous people. Now Mike and Val are going back to Tel Aviv to follow up with those who have expressed a desire to learn more about Yeshua.

Through your generous designated gifts we were able to pay one months rent for Dema, Ina and their two children. Dema injured his back and is unable to work and is in middle of process to receive government assistance. Your gift bridged the gap during this process and kept a roof over their heads.

Elena is a pensioner and found herself in need of a new pair of glasses, which is not covered through Israel's medical insurance. We were able to send her to the optometrist and she received a new pair of glasses. She has asked that we convey her gratitude as now she is able to read her bible every day!

"Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren you did it to Me." Matt. 25:40

Warm House
After months of prayer seeking how to best reach our community with the Gospel we received a phone call inquiring if we could host a warm house. They went on to explain that during WWII the Jewish people where either placed in concentration camps, ghettos or hid where ever they could from the Nazis. Those who hid looked for what came to be known as a 'Warm House' a place to hide, or receive a warm meal from loving Christians.

We joyfully started a Warm House that meets twice a month. We share a clear Gospel message, sing worship, and read poetry all to the glory of our Lord, Yeshua. Presently there are two groups totaling 30 people attending who are open to hear the Word of God!

A Special Holiday Note From Co-Founder Dov Schwarz

Dear Blessing Israeli Believers Partners,

Shalom and Happy Pesach (Passover)! This is such a special time not only in Israel, not only amongst the Jewish people worldwide, but for all those who call upon the Name of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus)! After all, He is the Passover Lamb!

John 1:29: The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Passover this year begins the evening of April 10 and lasts until the 17th. This time reminds us that the Jewish people were in bondage in Egypt under the heavy hand of the Pharaoh. Then the LORD sent His deliverer Moses who brought the message in Exodus 12: "Let My people go!"

Our Father in heaven also sent His Great Deliverer, Messiah Yeshua as His name means "Jehovah or the LORD saves." The bondage of sin is the worst slavery ever and leads to eternal destruction. Yet Messiah Yeshua calls out and commands Satan to let go of Abba Father's people, Jew and Gentile, all around the world!

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3

In Exodus 12 the Jewish people were commanded to place the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of their homes. Having done this they would be protected from the final judgment upon Egypt-the death of the firstborn. Death would 'passover' the house with the blood of the Lamb.

Today as we trust in Messiah Jesus the blood of the Lamb is applied to our heart. This means that when we face the judgment in the next life God's wrath will 'passover' the person that has the blood of the Lamb Messiah Yeshua! We now have everlasting life!!!

How are we commanded to keep the Feast of Passover today? The Apostle Paul answers in 1 Corinthians 5. The answer may be a surprise to many as Paul is addressing blatant and over the top wicked sin in the body of Messiah:

1 Corinthians 5:6-8 Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Here we see the way we keep the Passover in this New Covenant today. We live holy New Covenant unleavened lives of sincerity and truth. "Unleavened" pertains to the bread without yeast that is a picture of the life of Messiah Jesus-unleavened-without sin. Though we cannot live fully sinless until we receive sinless bodies-we can live a life of sincere devotion that reflects the life of the truth of who Messiah Jesus is. He is the way, the truth and the life!

This Passover season, please also remember the Believers in Messiah Yeshua here in Israel as we, by grace, are the light to our Jewish brothers in the Promised Land.

Blessing Israeli Believers February 2017

Update from Ariel & Shayla:

Dear Friends,

The Lord is doing marvelous things here! Although there have been so many stories of opportunities to share the Gospel and see Yeshua heal the sick in the past few weeks, here's just one that we especially would appreciate your prayers for:

Natali, who is part of our congregation and the Evangelism Team we've been leading, has been growing a lot in boldness and sharing her faith effectively with her family and others. Her grandparents and mother had heard and become softened to the message of the Gospel over time through her persistent prayers and sharing.

Then recently she mentioned how Yeshua has been healing many sick people over the past few months, and they asked if we could pray for them too. A few days ago Ariel and Natali went to their house and shared the Gospel with her grandparents and mother. At first they still had some reservations, but did still want prayer for healing.

The grandfather has had severe pain in his knees, hip, and chest, but when we prayed in Yeshua's name, his pain went down significantly in every one of those areas, and he was even able to lift up his legs on his own - something he couldn't do before. When we prayed for her mom, she was healed in her back, neck, and head. There was great joy and amazement in their home and we were all saying, "Thank you, Yeshua!" Afterwards, her grandmother and mother decided to pray to receive Yeshua. Praise God! And her grandfather was very open but said he needed to think about it more, and said that he would gladly read the New Testament every week with Natali.
We clearly explained the whole Gospel and strongly emphasized the need for repentance and also the need to truly commit to living for God from now on, and they prayed with that understanding.

We've seen several instances lately where people have made a profession of faith and then there's been an intense spiritual battle over them over the next few weeks. Please join with us in praying that Katya (Natali's mom), Shulamit (her grandmother), and Pavel (her grandfather) will all fully come to Yeshua, be rooted and grounded in God's Word, start fellowshipping regularly with believers, and growing in their faith, and that no weapon formed against them would prosper! And let's pray for anointing for Natali and anyone else who will be involved in follow-up.

Praise our God, who is able to not only save individuals, but even whole households!

Hebrew Courses
Being an American, I never understood, or sad to say empathized with immigrants and all the challenges they face, that is until I became an immigrant myself. Language is key to transitioning into any new society, thus we are offing Hebrew Courses for new immigrants.

Blessing Israeli Believers
Through your generous designated gifts we were able to provide beds for a young family of 5 emmigrating from the States. This year winter is very wet and came early and your gift made it possible for them not to have to sleep on the cold tile floor.

"Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren you did it to Me."

Blessing Israeli Believers January 2017

A 2017 Vision Note from BIB Co-Founder Dov Schwarz

Dear Blessing Israeli Believers Partners and Friends,

As promised I would like to begin this letter with a note from myself, and John McTernan, as founders of this ministry. We both see 2017 as a potential year of great change, Kingdom opportunity, and shaking. We believe and sense that this is going to be a very special and unique year in Israel and in the Nations. Having said that, we also believe that our vision statement for BIB is going to be very powerful for this New Year:

Blessing Israeli Believers exists to uniquely bless and empower Israeli followers of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) to be the shining light to Israel and the Nations of the world!

In 2017 here are just some of the many Kingdom efforts we are looking forward to being involved in here in the Land:

Gospel Outreach
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isaiah 9:2)

This year our partners are laboring in the harvest field of Messiah Yeshua. There are many different strategies and methods being employed with the goal of reaching as many precious Jews, Muslims, and others with the gospel of Israel's Messiah Yeshua.

Discipleship
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)

Through teaching, preaching, shepherding (pastoring), praying, counseling, men's Bible studies and groups, and much more we are becoming more mature Israeli Believers by the grace and mercy of Abba Father. Our Israeli Partners' influence in this regard is in Jerusalem, Haifa, the Galilee, and the Golan Heights.

Saving Precious Israeli Babies
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.(Proverbs 31:8)

Our BIB Pro Life work is to come alongside Sandy Shoshani and Israel Pro Life to fund the saving of Israeli babies through Operation Moses and other programs. What an honor to save Israeli Babies from certain death and to see them and their mothers live in the Land of Israel.

Holocaust Survivors
"Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God. (Isaiah 40:1)

The Holocaust Survivors are aging and passing away so quickly now. We see this ministry, along with the others mentioned today, as an urgent Kingdom matter. Two of our partners are reaching so many of them, not only with physical food, but also with the manna from heaven - Messiah Jesus!

Ministry To The Poor
For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things. (Romans 15:26-27)

Messiah Yeshua told us the poor would be with us always and that a good part of the stewardship of disciples of Messiah Jesus is to be measured by how we care for the poor. In Romans 15:26, 27 we saw that Paul took offerings from the nations to poor Israeli Believers in Messiah Jesus-this is our example today! Very specifically five of our partners in Jerusalem, Netanya, Haifa, and the Galilee have a very powerful outreach to poor Israeli believers and those 'not yet' believers.

Israel Protection Dog Program
Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:4)

Our first protection dogs are being deployed in Samaria (West Bank) in February. One of them will be on patrol with a village watchman in a Jewish village that borders Ramallah, the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority. There is a constant threat of terrorism there. We have many opportunities and need financial support to deploy more dogs as soon as possible.

Please join with us in prayer and as the Lord leads, even financial support for this important New Year as we shine the light of the gospel here in Israel!

A Word From Dov Schwarz, Co-Founder Blessing Israeli Believers:

Can you believe it-it's almost 2017! I would like to give a brief overview of just some of the fruit from 2016 here in Israel. Next month, Lord willing, we will give a brief vision for 2017. This year has been full of ups and downs yet in both we have seen the faithfulness of Messiah Yeshua in the Promised Land.

Our ministry partners have been walking in the faithful grace and mercy of Messiah and experiencing His love and kindness. In the midst of His presence and glory we have seen so many expressions of His love for His people Israel. Here are some of the many Kingdom categories we participated in that we can look back on at 2016 with amazement:

The Gospel

Over 1,000,000 Jewish people have heard the gospel through Ariel Hyde's Facebook video, about the "forbidden chapter" Isaiah 53.

Also, we have heard testimonies of people who have experienced physical healings as Ariel's team was able to pray over Israelis.

All of our partners are involved in personal sharing, one on one, with Jews, Arab, and others from the nations. There have been so many opportunities!

Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Pastor Oded Shoshani and Sandy Shoshani - Be'ad Chaim (Israel Pro-Life)
Oded has been feeding the poor saints in Jerusalem with BIB funds while his wife Sandy has been saving babies from abortion and giving hope and comfort to their mothers. Your gifts to Blessing Israeli Believers and BIB Pro-Life have helped tremendously!
